Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, or building plans to learn what types of material are required. Remove materials from demolition sites to prepare for the new structure.
- Prepares work environment for safety and cleanliness such as installing polyethylene over carpets or other related requirements.
- Minimize environmental noise for occupants when working in a residential or other occupied area.
- Mark, cut, and assemble materials to exact measurements. This may install metal framing, drywall, or other related products.
- Verify accuracy of structures with tools such as a laser, framing squares, and carpenter levels.
- Fit and Install prefabricated frames, trim, and hardware. Perform both rough and finish type of work.
- Utilize carpentry hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner, properly store and return tools to warehouse for repair, maintenance, and tracking.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment per AOI and client standards.
- Train apprentices and new employees as needed, verify workmanship of apprentices by checking trueness of structures.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Must be self-motivated and prepared for each day’s work.
- Ability to comprehend, interpret and follow written and oral instructions.
- Ability to interpret scale graphs and read blueprints.
- Ability to use common sense to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Must be flexible/adaptable to work in a variety of work settings and with various personalities.
- Ability to install drywall, trim, doors, metal studs and associated hardware to the Commercial industry and AOI standards.
- Willingness to keep informed of new means and methods of the industry, including the use of technology for communication and planning or estimating.
- Ability to compose and communicate professionally via email.
