Markel Corporation, a holding company for insurance and investment operations around the world, was looking to bring their brand to the Omaha skyline and provide a new home to more than 200 employees of the specialty insurance division after acquiring First Comp.
The 60,000 square foot renovation in the Central Park Plaza Building included demolition, upgraded HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpet and paint. The construction scope included new private offices, conference rooms, restrooms, data, training and locker room facilities over four floors. This was a design-build MEP project with an out of state owner and primary architect that required unique communication methods. All work was executed within occupied office space in an occupied building, under a tight timeline.
