The Creighton University Medical Center’s Emergency Department was in the process of getting a facelift of flooring and paint by another contractor. However, there was no consideration of updating the nurse station and patient room casework because of the disruption that the removal and installation would cause a 24/7 unit that cannot shut down. AOI’s architectural products team provided the answer. The solution was wrapping the existing casework in place with a new finish.
AOI’s technicians came in and repaired chipped and broken cabinetry surfaces and fusion wrapped them in a lightweight film selected by the owner. The film is lightweight yet tough enough to stand up to conditions that even some natural materials cannot. It is also a green solution, keeping the existing architectural elements in use when surfaces become dated and worn.
